Trim Levels
The first trim level for the Ford Explorer is the Base. This has two rows of split-folding seats. It also has a touchscreen infotainment system. Next is the XLT, which has a power liftgate, optional adaptive cruise control and a power-adjustable driver's seat.
The ST-line is next with the aluminum wheels and the ActiveXâ„¢ Seat fabric. Next up is the Timberline trim. This has the Ford Co-Pilot360â„¢ Assist driver systems, a terrain Management option with different surface conditions and off-road suspension. This will make it much easier to drive off-road with this vehicle.
Other options for our Mount Joy shoppers to consider include the Limited and ST, the latter of which has an upgraded audio system. Then there's the King Ranch and the Platinum options, with the latter option also available as a hybrid. The Platinum level also has Active Park Assist 2.0. This system helps to make sure that you can get into any space with help from the onboard computer.
Interior
Elizabethtown families will enjoy a lot of comfort in the Explorer's cabin. You also have plenty of space to store luggage and other cargo with up to 87.8 cubic feet of cargo space available.
Performance
The new Explorer comes with a standard 2.3-liter EcoBoost® I4 that can put out 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. East Petersburg drivers can also choose a model with the 3.0-liter EcoBoost® V6 to enjoy up to 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. These pair with the 10-speed auto transmission.
If you would like some increased efficiency for your Lancaster drives, consider getting an Explorer with the hybrid 3.3-liter powertrain. You'll get up to 318 horsepower and 322 pound-feet of torque with this option, and you can expect to drive up to 28 mpg on the highway and 27 mpg in the city.
Technology
The Ford Explorer offers many technologies, including a standard 10.1-inch vertically oriented touchscreen display. You can access Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ from here, making it easy for you to use your phone's apps to listen to your favorite music or receive text messages.
You can upgrade to a higher trim level to get a GPS navigation system powered by SiriusXM®. You can also choose to get a rear entertainment system to help keep the kids entertained on long drives out of Lititz. You can also get a 12-speaker Bang and Olufsen premium audio system for crystal-clear audio.
Safety
The Ford Explorer has quite a few safety options such as the driver attention monitor. This can tell you if your focus is slipping. There's a backup camera and automatic high-beam headlights, too. The Explorer has many standard safety systems such as forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking. The blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning and lane-keeping assist system are standard, as well. You're sure to appreciate these systems on longer trips where it can be easy to get distracted and stressed.
